My attempted rendering of what represents God the Father as described in the apostle John’s vision that Jesus showed him around the year AD 90 (Revelation 4:3):
…He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius/carnelian stone in appearance…
The Father’s throne in heaven (which He later granted Jesus to sit on with Him, at His right hand) as described after the Exodus from Egypt; and by the prophet-priest Ezekiel’s, the prophet Daniel’s, and the apostle John’s visions; and in one of the apostle Paul’s letters to Timothy:
…and under His [the appearance of the glory of the LORD’s] feet it was like a pavement of lapis lazuli, as clear as the sky itself (Exodus 24:10)
**4 …**a great cloud with fire flashing forth continually and a bright light around it, and in its midst something like glowing metal in the midst of the fire. **22 …**there was something like an expanse, like the awe-inspiring gleam of crystal ice, spread out… 26 …above the expanse … over their heads … was something resembling a throne, like lapis lazuli in appearance… 27 [I saw something like] a radiance around Him [the appearance of the form of the glory of the LORD]. 28 Like the rainbow which appears in the clouds on a rainy day looks, this was the appearance of the surrounding radiance. (Ezekiel 1:4, 1:22, 1:26–28) …in the expanse … over the heads of the cherubim something like sapir stone [lapis lazuli], in appearance resembling a throne, appeared above… (Ezekiel 10:1)
**2 …**a throne was standing in heaven… **3 …**and there was a rainbow/halo around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. 5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning… 6 and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal… (Revelation 4:6)
